How much is acrylic raw materials?

Just checking on a quote. Half inch thick acrylic panel 48"x20", what do you think that should cost? I'm told $200 is just the price of the materials. Just imagining that, it would mean the materials cost for an 80gal acrylic tank would be ~$800 before you add anything else like overflows, plumbing, sump and stand. Does that seem like a lot, or is that about right? Thanks!

Acrylic is expensive here In Australia so I am not surprised if that was a realistic prize

Is that what Paragon quoted you? You can ask for other materials as well if you are not using it for water contact.
