Just wondering what everyone’s opinion is on dosing phyto. I’ve been culturing phyto and pods and like most, I end up with a surplus of phyto, probably pods as well but I just drop them in the tank and well you know, they either eat or get eaten. Is there a point at which dosing quite regularly is detrimental? I obviously don’t want a green tank. Other than increased glass cleaning I really haven’t seen any adverse effects, I probably dose 3 times the usually recommended amount. Where as the usual 5ml per 20 gallons, I dose about 15ml per 20 gallons, daily. My phosphates and nitrates aren’t negatively effected by the dosing either.

just curious what everyone else is doing.

If your tank is fine, like you say, I see no prob with it. However, if you stop you might see some changes in bacteria ect....

I dose a little every morning. When I see it building up on the front glass, I cut back.
I do 1 to 1-1/2 oz. everyday in my 233.
