How much sand?

I'm in the process in buying CaribSea Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand. I had sugar fine sand and hated all the sand storm it would create from my mp10. My question is, will a 40lb bag of the CaribSea be enough to give me about 1-1.5" of sand bed for a 36x18 area or will I need to buy more?

I just put a 20 lb bag of sand in a my display refugium which is 30" x 12" and in some places it is 1-3/4" and others it is about 1". So that should give you something to go by. It sounds like you nailed it.
