Lately I have been building rockscapes for myself and friends.

I have found way to much enjoyment in building these. They are 90% live rock, some white rock and then Marco paste to make it all look nice.

I’m wondering what people and if people would pay for these.

It depends on the rock you are using, how much time it took you, the amount of customization you are putting into the rocks, and how much the rocks cost you to begin with

It would depend on what they looked like, the sizes and materials.
I would research what is already being made, note the sizes and prices, make up several sets, and price them at or below current products.
You would also have to figure out how to ship them without getting damaged.
Pictures!

JMO Personally I've never paid anyone to do something I could do myself and building a rock scape is part of the fun when starting a tank. Mine have never looked great but I've never been unhappy once coral start growing. I would imagine shipping alone would be pretty expensive. Plus it would be an all dry rock start up which I avoid if at all possible.
I've seen some cast into specific shapes with a lot of detail that looked interesting and I could see paying for that if that's what you want but they're not my type of thing to add to my tanks.

There's absolutely a market for rock scapes because there are already businesses that do this in a variety of formats. I think the key (in addition to figuring out your cost and necessary profit margin) would be determining what your USP is.

I agree there for sure.
I just love building them, and figured there may be people that don’t want the work

Oh I have no doubt there is a market I was just tossing out an opinion. Nothing wrong with trying make a few $ doing something that you enjoy.

That’s what I wanted. Opinions.
Going to talk with my local fish store about building a few and selling them.
