I tried the coke bottle trap earlier but in my case it never gotten further than the lip of the trap. But it could be because I haven't stopped feeding long enough. So I went ahead with the large trap which is about 25x20x20cm big and along with non-feeding for a day, they appeared much more desperate.

Putting a mirror in the fish trap often works for wrasses. They come out to "challenge" the "new rival."

We have a huge lime green wrasse that killed four other wrasses including pair of clown fairies and pair of flame wrasses. :( we finally had a enough and tried to catch the lime green one. It took an hour one Tupperware container, two nets and three dividers. But we caught it and moved it to our fish only tank. I wanted to flush the killer wrasse but my husband wouldn’t let me. I’m so glad we caught it. Was a really hard. I didn’t want to wait for a trap when I saw it eating my other wrasse, that was the last straw for me. I’m so glad you caught yours too and sorry about the fish you lost. We didn’t realize what kind of wrasse we were buying when we put it in ur reef tank. And it grew really fast! What will you do with the fish now?

Go in at night with a red flashlight, figure out where he is sleeping. Thalassoma will typically sleep on top of the sand bed or within rockwork but will dive into the sand when threatened. I wouldn't suggest not feeding, may result in increased aggression from the wrasse (believe it or not) alongside depriving your anthias of a much needed resource. Hopefully this helps
