I have glass test vials that have staining from phosphates test kits and calcium precipitates.

Accuracy and precision is very important to me, so how can I clean them?

I need to clean both the glass and the lid, so please give me some instructions as to not melt the plastic lid.

*picture is to show the material of the lid, not a representation of the staining

Ok. I’ll try hot vinegar first, if not, I’ll move to muriatic.

I’m curious, will muriatic acid melt the plastic lid?

Depends on what that lid is made of, more than likely it'll be fine.

I would assume the lid is either PP or LDPE either of which would be fine with muriatic.
