Question: Have any of you PERSONALLY tested the par of your lights before and after adding a kraken reef lid with a polycarbonate insert? If so, what did you learn about transmission of par through the specific material used by kraken reefs?
I have used an Apogee MQ-500 PAR meter to test par transmission through various materials and noticed significant variation in par transmission from material to material. In general, I've have better results with glass than plastics.
Not the question: "did you hear third hand from your friend's uncle's brother in law that plexiglass/lexan/polycarbonate/glass/contact lenses would have no impact on par?"
Looking for FIRST HAND experience.
