I recently purchased a used 55 gal setup that I plan to use as a reef tank, which is what the previous owner did. It's a nice setup but having been in storage for a year or so, the tank/overflow box/sump/etc is in bad need of cleaning. I'd like to restore these items to as close to new as possible before begining. What is the best method? I was thinking vinegar and water but then what ratio would I use? Thanks in advance for the help. First post.

Use as much vinegar as possible. Water amount doesn't matter :) The warmer you can get the vinegar, the better it will work. Heating it up increases the acidity. Which means less scrubbing for you [emoji7]
