Look at my setup. Raised my pH to 8.45 from 7.9 and I can get 4 to 5 months out of the CO2 media.

You do NOT pull CO2 from your home. The air is in a closed loop and so CO2 Scrubber just recirculates that air and moisture.

Give it a try, simple and very effective.

So you never add water to scrubber as the directions say?

Only add a teaspoon of tap water to bottom of reactor when I change the media (every 4 to 5 months).
I assume the water is visibly gone in few days like mine either way. So why even add it then?

I see moisture in the reactor.
I could swear before I did my set up that I researched both ways and found people to say outside air is best if you can because will help introduce fresh air to tank. The recirc way is best when you can not access outside air… I sure hope other chime in here.

What do you do in the cold winters and hot summers?

My system is over 300 gallons. I do nothing. I assume you have a small system and this is why it works for you.
Mine is 90 gallons and I only use that one small reactor.

My skimmer pulls air from outside for past 3 years weather it’s from skimmer thru scrubber then outside or when valve switch it’s from skimmer straight outside

If the ambient temps from outside thru a skimmer change your temp in tank you have an issue :)
Really? You bring in outside 10 degree air through your skimmer and iT doesn’t impact 78 degree water temps?

Honestly never had an issue. When you run 300 gallon plus you have 2-4 heaters running and never skips a beat

Also I have a co2 monitor and it reads anywhere from 1000-1800 on average in my house. If I was to recirc it would recirc 1500ppm co2 thru skimmer and introduce it to tank

Believe that CO2 will go down and stay down as you keep recirculating the same air through the skimmer and scrubber.

your not understanding what recirculate means.. you are not recirculating your home air, its recicing the already scrubbed air from the skimmer lid, this is also the way I do it... the advantages of this is not only does it keep the media from going bad... which is why you are using 4 huge canisters bc im sure with one it only lasted you about a week... the main advantage to recirc the air is the moisture.. keeping the media moist is crucial in this application.. unless you want to keep adding a teaspoon everyday then just recirc that air. let a little skim mate in the scrubber. I promise you will not regret it man... happy reefing. o and this method raised my ph from 7.8 high to 8.3 and 8.4 my daily hi and low. consistently. media last 5 weeks..

I’m not sure this is correct due to the fact that how will it go down and stay down as it runs it’s still sucking co2 from my basement past the skimmer lid. Where do you think the air comes from that goes thru skimmer? Ambient air that’s around skimmer which is high co2 basement air unless you pull it from fresh air source
