My tank is about a year old. It is a Planet, 310 gal tank. Parameters are all good and everything seems happy and growing. The sand bed looks dirty. I do not clean it at all and only rely on my clean up crew which do not seem to be doing a great job. How do I get it to look clean and white again? Do I need to manually clean it or does that disrupt all good algae and microorganisms and just dirty things up even worse? Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

I do believe you have to clean it. Do siphon it. If you are worried about the microorganisms do particularly every time.
there is a tread actually investigating how much it is important and the findings are that not really

there are rip cleaners to sating the same so get a vacuum and do it maybe to a 5-10 microns filter socks so you are not limited in time you can spend with it.

self cleaning is an idealism
