Hi,
I have a new Regal 200int on my new tank. The motor is silent, but the air intake is making a loud wooshing sound. I have it connected to the 'silencer' which helps, but it is still audible across the room. How do you make it quiet?

If your skimmer is new the sound is not avoidable and will quiet over time. Please make sure that one of the two ports on the top of the silencer is capped.

You can also place 2 hoses over the holes and loosely pack some cotton in the silencer. Mine is near silent this way.

I can't get the silencer apart. I thought it was fused together?
It is getting quieter the more it runs (I have it turned all the way up). I also considered getting a second silencer, turning it upside down, and connecting two tubes from the first to second. That should also give more turns for more quiet.
