How to setup this sump

I bought this sump for my 150 reef tank to put under my stand to upgrade my old sump to but I have never had one where the intake was in the middle how would yall set it up if it were you?

I almost think you have to get it running to see the flow patterns. I don't get it. A refugium on the left maybe
