How to stop e-mail for every thread?

I googled this process and it says to click on your name, then click on preferences. I can’t for the life of me find this page. Every time I respond to a thread I get a new e-mail every time someone else responds. How do I get to the preferences menu?
I see that you can unfollow each individual thread, but how do I stop the e-mails altogether?

On the top of each page below the header image on of the menu options right of center is account. Click on it an near the bottom is preferences. There you can decide when you want to receive emails.

If you click on the main “forums” tab, there is a horizontal list of types of forums near the top of the page. One of the options is “watched threads”. Click on that and select all the threads you don’t want notifications from and go to the bottom of the page where you can change what notifications you get for those threads.
