How to tell if gorgonian is photosynthetic?

I just need to know as I don't think my nano tank's filtration is good enough for a 24/7 feeding for hard to keep non-photosynthetic ones.

Colorful vibrant gorgonians are usually non photosynthetic.

Agreed with @Sea MunnKey. The best way to find out is to look up photosynthetic gorgonian species. There are less than 20 in our hobby. The several hundreds of others are NPS
