:cool:Hi, my name is Ed & I am 38.I live in metairie, Louisiana, right next to New Orleans ,Where we are proud to swim home:wink:. I have bin doing the salt water thing sins I was eight years old & loving it the whole time. I am currently building a 55 gal reef system (36x18x20) with double over flows ,a CPR refugium sump with a media reactor, urchin skimmer, stealth 200 watt heater, mag-drive 1800 circulation pump, 36'' VHO six lamp light system (two super actinic, two super aquasun, two super actinic daylight URI lamps totaling 570 Watts),two Koralia #4 12volt wave pumps w/controller & photo eye sensor, 100 GPD RODI unit w/30 GAL graduated plastic tank for auto top off & water changes, Pacific Coast 280 Chiller & as many monitors as I could cram into it with Lamont test kits to back to them up. I plan on using a four & one half inch deep sand bed in the tank & refugium. water will be returned into the tank via a three level spray bar return covering the back of the tank with an additional four return pipes. After calculating for true system volume it will have an eighteen times per GAL turn over rate per hour not including the wave pumps. I plan on using Sea Chem chemicals as recommended by GARF with Marine Environment Dual Phase Salt. If this system works out the way I believe it will I hope to build a much larger version as a propagation & frag tank.
