HQI bulbs

i just got some use metal halides want to replace the bulbs in it. wondering what good brands there is out there. are they like t5's where brand is everything when i comes to quality of light.

What wattage? Radium, Phoenix, and xm are good.

Ushio...hands down. I light 20,000k. Nice bright white with blue tint. The 14,000K have a yellow hue...

I got Radiums last change but this time I went with Phoenix. Phoenix has a little better growth but I really liked the color of the Radiums. You are going to get a broad spectrum of answers. Its really a personal choice once you find what you like. I have a friend that swears by Reeflux and another friend that uses ebay bulbs and has just as good of growth as I do...go figure.

+1 for radiums. It will take a lot to move me away from 250w radium on M80 ballast. Tried and true.
