Ive been told that the older HQI m80 style ballasts ran radium 20k bulbs better and bluer than my reef brite ballast do. why is that? Does anyone know? is it worth buying these ballasts?

Being as I was Bumping up your old post so it was at the top of the list, and would get more views and possibly an answer for you.
Your Welcome

M80 ballast run radium bulbs to spec, they will actually produce a crisper whiter look. Electronic ballast will under drive the bulb and produce a bluer look. I have no experience with the reef brite ballast but I've read people with lumatek and galaxy select a watt ballast are happy with the way radiums look on them
