04/23/19 Update. Lost just a little color more noticeable in person, ALK dipped a little low, but slowly bringing back up some.

That’s pretty impressive growth. What are using for lighting? Parameters? Secrets?
This is kept under T5s B+ and C+. Alk steady at 7.7 except as of late currently 5.7.. i forgot that with the season change opening my windows raised my ph therefore alk consumption increased alot.. kinda like when you add a co2 scrubber, slowly raising back up no need to rush it as things look just fine. Secrets sorry i wish i did but i dont...

I recently acquired a frag, is the first stage of growth typically 'encrusting' form?

Mine has 2 christmas tree worms that fan out every now and then (that polyp is pink too)... seems like it must have been fragged off a wild colony

Did you purchase it from me? If so then yes this will encrust for a while then you will see the shoots coming up, Its not a fast grower for me. If you just have a similar piece purchased else where then I'm not really sure how its going to grow. This was from a wild colony a couple years ago that I brought in and has been aqua-cultured, I never saw any worms in it even when first acquired.

Been a while since I have posted, figured I would update on this one. Has been fragged a lot, but have stopped and will actually let it grow now... Here is how that frag is doing now. Lost a bit of color probably to my low nutrients but working on that and should see the colors come in more, looks like an ice fire in low nutrients I guess..
