So I’ve decided that having 2 tanks on 2 different floors of the house is more work than I want and wanted to consolidate down to one tank hooked up to my water station so I ordered the 750XXL. So until it’s ready to move stuff over from the other 2 I’ll have 3 tanks on 2 different floors to take care of...

I don’t have a vehicle to haul that so they’re going to deliver it this week and help me get it in and on the stand.

I was able to get the stand pieces, plumbing, and sump home so I can get the stand ready. I didn’t get much beyond unpacking stuff tonight but here’s a few shots.

Should get the stand assembled over the weekend and looking forward to getting things moving and consolidated.

Thanks for looking.

Good luck! It’s a great tank, please consider a Build thread. Anyway, you’re In the right place and best wishes with the tank!

Here’s one of the two that’s getting combined.

It’s going to get slid across the room when they deliver the big one because the big one is going in this spot but will need some time to plumb it up, level it out etc. the rock is all coming out of this tank when I move stuff over.

And here’s the other. Notice the 6 ft RMS rail I’m using temporarily to hold the light. Use to be on the big tank until I got the hybrid fixture.

Happy I went through the other tanks so I could learn what I do and don’t like before landing on the Red Sea. And how to not do a few things. I don’t think I can get anything much bigger down the stairs so think this should keep me from wanting, or at least being physically able to go any bigger.

Today was the day. Tank arrived, we got it to the basement and nobody died so that's a plus. Hopefully the guys from the shop will still talk to me, we were able to do a lot of sliding so we didn't have to carry it down the steps so that's a plus.

We slid the old tank over across the room so the new one could go in the same spot. Didn't want to put holes in the ceiling for the temporary setup so here's my temporary solution.

Also turns out today is the old tank's birthday.

Not sure if I’ve made progress or just a mess. Tank is leveled, sump is in and trying to come up with some plumbing plans. I want to put a flow meter on the return and a better gate valve on the drain. Have lots of metric to standard adapters and unions so we shall see.

Progress:

And the mess:

Finally had some time to work on the plumbing. I mostly wanted to add the flow meter to the return pump and put a better gate valve on the main drain. I left the emergency drain alone.

Started working on the wiring but need to make a run for a few extension cords to get a few things to reach my apex cabinets.

Got most of the wiring done and started filling the tank, ran some plumbing tests and so far all is well.

Tank has been running now with salt since 5/20. Need to get some sand, have added a little. Brought over some marine pure balls that had been soaking in the other sump for a while to get some bacteria going and plan to use existing live rock from the 125. Also built the Red Sea top for it with a cutout on the front for a feeding door.

Finished off the sump area yesterday. Not sure I’ll need both the scrubber and a fuge but for now keep the equipment since I had it. My LFS has a guy that makes sumps and such for them make some platforms for the scrubbers out of marine pvc I think they called it.

Spent some more time with cord management and cleaning up my cabinets.

Used a bigger aquarium and my Tunze ATO in the stand. Still want to do a bit more management in here but I was ready to be done for the night:
