Huge internet melt down!

Ladies and gentlemen, Charter communications is currently experiencing a major melt down. Internet service is down across the United States. From LA to Chicago to New York.

God, I wish the outage we had on the East Coast last Friday was as short as this one lol. Two large fiber cuts (one of which being in Chicago, which is used as a hub by most ISPs) and it took out a good portion of the East Coast's internet. Comcast was mostly affected, although the two actual outages were fiber providers that lease backend infrastructure to them and many other ISPs. It screwed things up so badly, even folks that weren't directly affected by the actual outage couldn't get to a large portion of websites because of routing issues through Chicago.

I work in IT management and was planning to leave a few hours early, so I'm sure you can imagine how pleasant it was getting alerts from 74 different servers (all at different locations), 4 different websites, and 14 different internet circuits spread throughout the country saying they were down or having problems. Murphy's law indeed
