Hey guys, mine will be a 600 to 700 liter tank including sump. As i dont have much space, i cant go for a ro skimmer as they only work at specific height. So im planning on hydor as it can work on any height. However it also need an extra pump, i have an eheim 1000 compact pump. Will it work? Also is any1 using this skimmer currently? What are the other pros and cons? Does it really do the job?

I haven't used it personally but there is a review by Digital Reefs. That being said recirculating skimmers are great since it gives the bubbles more time to contact the water, pulling out more organics. Keep in mind the added pump will determine how quiet the skimmer is so selecting that pump can be key. Going from no skimmer to any skimmer will give you significant improvements in nutrient export and should work well for you.

Hopefully someone with experience on this exact skimmer can chime in though. Glad your considering skimming ;)

Do u have a link to that digi reef review? Also the tank will be heavily stocked and will have sps, so obviously ill need a skimmer. The self sustainable tank is a complete different concept, just like no wc setups/ats only tanks/dsb/ etc.

Do all external skimmers work internally at any waterlevel below cup?
