Hydra 32 light settings

I have a 60 gallon tank with 2 hydra 32 lights. Has anyone modified any of the light settings that can be downloaded from aqua illuminations?

Never modified, but had great success with the Dave Saxby schedule

After following the mixed reef settings for my Hydra 32 HD’s, some of the diodes have melted through the lens like tear drops.
Is this common?
After seeing the Dave Saxby settings, did he fluctuate the intensities for heat management, or shimmer effect?
