I’m looking at the Hydros and trying to figure out how much good the USB ports are. They’re all controlled on a single switch, which already limits their use, and if they are true USB (as opposed to Neptune which uses a USB cable running 12V for power & communications,) they are 5V. I also haven’t seen anything listing how much current or power they can supply. Depending on the implementation, standard USB A ports can go up to 900mA/4.5 watts. That’s pretty minimal power capacity - you could run some LED lights, perhaps a small, low power fan, but that’s about it.

Am I missing anything here?

There is a 2A limit I believe total. So if you run a 1.5 amp device on one then you have .5 amps left. I would not try and run any outlet at the max though. It is 5 volts. The Control 2 and Control 4 have drive ports that have 12 volts out. The total on them is 1.5 or 1 amp on a single output. I use them to power dosing pumps.
