I currently have an Apex providing control of two maxpect Gyre via the ICEcap control module. The APEX sends out variable 0-10V commands to drive the gyres based on the profiles setup in the APEX. I am upgrading to larger Maxspect Gyres and plan to drive them with a Hydros Wave Engine (LE edition). I see that the Wave Engine has a 0-10V input and there is a cable that connects the Apex two WDM ports to the Wave Engine inputs. From reading I see many use the Wave Engine input to trigger events such as feed, etc. However I can't find if the Wave Engine can be fully controlled by the Apex, in other words can the variable 0-10V output that defines motor speed be an input to the Wave Engine where the Wave Engine is acting merely as a pump driver and not controller?

Depends on the pump flow mode you program via the schedule menu. For certain flow modes you can select 0-10v input control at the bottom.

I'm not looking to have the Wave Engine generate any of the control but rather follow the 0-10V input to define the speed of the Gyres. From what you are describing it sounds like using the 0-10V input to trigger different flow modes which isnt what I'm trying to accomplish.

Yes that's what I was explaining. You have to use schedules to configure which pattern to use. Then at the bottom you can use 0-10V inputs to control the speeds. Here is an example of using the constant speed mode with 0-10V control. I have it set to 50% max speed in the schedule. So 0V in would set it to 0% flow, and 10V in would set it to 50% flow. Every flow mode has a speed control. If you want Apex to generate the flow pattern, just select Pattern type Constant and the output of the WELE will just follow the 0-10V input voltage.

I can’t figure out what I have configured incorrectly. I have the inputs set up and they modulate from 0 to 10 based on apex vdm output, I.e when apex is driving to 50% I see 5 on the hydros input. The pump output on hydros stays at the constant rate set in the program regardless of the input value. Do I need to set multiplier on inputs so the go from 0 to 1 instead of 0-10?

Your pump outputs say OVERRIDE, which tells me you have it set to OFF, MIN, or MAX. Click on the output and set it to AUTO.

I had the two gyres in a large bucket for testing, I changed them to off at the time I took the screenshot. When in auto they would run a fixed speed of what they were set to as "constant speed" value in the program and not modulate speed as I changed input from the apex from 10% to 100% (where input value in Hydros would change from 1 to 10.

Hmm. Might be time to reach out to [email protected]

They should be able to provide better help past this cuz I’m at a loss.

Bad news, Coralvue says the 0-10v input can only be used to trigger actions (like feed). The 0-10v input cannot be used to modulate pump output.
