For those of you who are using Maxspect XF350 cloud edition gyres with the Hydros Wave Engine. It doesnt reverse even when using the "Use Reverse" switch. Im using the Gyre setting and have Pump 1 set to Left Side(Same side) and pump 2 set to Right Side(Opposite Side). Instead of going in reverse it just runs really slow in forward. What am I missing?

My cloud controller stopped working on pump A so while Im waiting to get a replacement I thought I would try out using the Wave engine since Im already on the Hydros platform. So far, Im not seeing any advantage. I was already shutting the pumps off during a water change using an outlet on my Launch. I dont shut them off when feeding but I could do that too using the outlet. I could see an advantage if I needed to change the speed for certain scenarios. Using the Hydros would make that easier but I dont have a reason to do that. The other con is I cant reduce the pumps below 25%. I was turning them down to 15% on my nighttime schedule with the cloud controller.

I would ask why 15% at night when the ocean doesn't really sleep.... I think good random flow is key.

I never had the cloud controller, just a WaveEnginev2. They are set up left/right, opposite/same with the ocean swell pattern, and go from 30-35% power (oversized powerheads for a 6 foot tank).

Does Ocean swell run them in reverse?

That I do not know unfortunately. I would guess no, I think they more power up one side while lowering the intensity of the other, but I really don't know.

I know my tank likes this. It is clear(er) that I can keep alive easier to grow sticks with the new powerheads in this config.
