Hey everyone,

I’m getting really frustrated with my Hydros X10. I just bought a new Pinpoint pH probe four days ago and it’s already acting up badly — it was reading negative pH numbers, wouldn’t stabilize in calibration fluid, and was jumping all over the place.

On top of that, my salinity probe keeps drifting upward even after multiple calibrations. I’ll add RODI to bring it back down, and it creeps right back up again, while my trusted Milwaukee refractometer consistently reads 36 ppt.

I’m having to use multiple separate tools just to verify what the X10 is telling me, which defeats the whole purpose of an all-in-one controller. This is my second pH probe issue and the salinity probe won’t stay accurate.

Has anyone else been dealing with frequent probe failures or constant drift on the X10? Looking for any advice or if this is just how it is.

Thanks.

Sorry for your issues. Have you reached out to the company?

Maybe someone will see this who has some experience.

I’m in the process of a RMA on the PH probe. I want to see if the replacement works or not first. Not sure on the salinity probe. Holding off on that one until I can get the ph squared away. The X 10 is 6 months old. Should not be seeing this many issues in such a short time. Thanks for your response

Not sure if I mentioned this as well but have calibrated both several times.

the RMA Ph probe arrived and after calibration it’s working correctly.
I cleaned calibrated the salinity probe again. It held for a couple of days but is drifting now. I would hope for the price tag the salinity probe would last longer than a few months.
Thanks for checking back!

idk I was about to buy one, wonder what others' experiences have been?

For the most part the X 10 is great. I dose 2 part with no issues. Hopefully they will get the probe issues worked out.

The salinity probe is temp sensitive. Not sure how well it will work but you can try setting up the temp sensor for the tank for the compensation temp sensor in the salinity probe settings. I have a temp sensor in the iV beaker.
