I am not really being seriously here. I am not going to try this, but It did not sound completely stupid. Although.. Shoot at it.

I like water changes (WC) for the shock effect of them. I know it is not in sync with the actual nature, but the refreshment shock makes me think the life in my tank is also experiencing a "event". Maybe it is even evoking different behaviour in fish, coral and sorts.

So, I do not really mind my temp being a bit off, or my salinity not exactly the same. I like the idea life in my tank can taste the fresh water.
I am not going anywhere near dangerous ranges. My salinity makes my tank drop 0.8ppt(max) in total after a WC. Temp maybe 1or2 degrees in total after WC.

I just run that salinity for a week and compensate with the next WC.

But I was thinking I would also be able to add the missing salt within the week after WC. If my salinity dropped 0.8ppt I could just add a little salt everyday until it is back to 35ppt.

The side benefit would be you introduce some fresh elements to the water. Instead of them being used in the first days after WC, you would add a tiny little bit once every day or so.

The main benefit for me still is the small change of parameters after WC. Don't go wild on them, just a little bit of a difference is my thing.

Salt doesn't dissolve instantly, so I wouldn't try it for that reason. If the undissolved crystals land on a say a coral, it could at the very least stress it at the worst damage it.

I imagine salt can be added in different ways. I think one would be able to dose it slowly either dissolved or not. Even a Rondomatic would do it.
