One step closer to my new tank.
I finished the long process (34 days) of cleaning some used reef rocks and made a video of it.
I bought them in a shop that only had this used rocks there. I know it is a big risk but as a chemist I wanted the challenge.
Next time I will bought new and clean rocks, crappy work ;Shamefullyembarrased
Here we go

After my diving holiday in egypt it will be continue ;Happy

Great video. Use of hydrochloric acid is a bold move, not one for the faint of heart or lack of PPE!

Thanks Flipper!

i work half my life with the most aggressive and toxic chemicals, i am used to handling them on a grand scale.
The 35% peroxide in the blue container in the beginning of video is much worse than the 20% hydrochloric acid, so I don't recommend office people to play with it :)

Great video!! I used HCl years ago and it worked pretty well. I wish I would have weighed the rock before and after, but not sure if there was enough loss to make that big of a difference haha
Rock work looks great, too!

I think most of loss is small broken pieces of rock. In the green container many small pieces were always lying on the ground after water changes.

How’s the diving in Egypt??

Its my first time there, my buddy has been there a few times and showed me videos, it looks really good there. I hope not as bad as on the Maldives over sylvester this year.
