I don't understand shroom pricing am I missing something??

I'm somewhat new to the "hobby" lol. Anyways, I was sold these mushrooms an told they were unique for $55 ea. Now that the two have turned to twenty an I'm trying to get rid of them I'm being told they're plain Jane only worth $10-15. So I guess I just don't understand if I got taken for a ride an also what makes a shroom unique? Any advice is appreciated, thanks a bunch

Those are nice yuma mushrooms. Price reflects what someone is willing to pay and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One person might really like the color and think 55 is a great deal while others might not like them at all. Some consider mushrooms plain jane unless it's a bounce or electus.

Ya I guess, I'm just tired a feelin dumb asking for $15 an getting turned down, and the last comment I got was they were plain Jane an he didn't want them taking up space in his tank. His sell tank that is, Not show! Ouch

There is a bigger debate and discussion that we can glean from your post but like @DSC reef noted it really comes down to what people will pay. I'm on the side of the fence that purchases using the actual corals name which limits my coral selection pool :) . To me what your photo shows is a pretty well established ricordea and grew pretty well in your aquarium while holding or even improving its color depth.

I may have to start doing the same thing and purchase corals based on name and genus. Since I'm partially color blind up until this point I've relied on the seller to tell me the exact color and WOW factor. For instance purchasing a deep red acan that I think looks awesome tell my wife gets home and tells me it's actually Brown!! Lol [emoji38]
