I would not even get into dosing with this tank. If you want to keep things more simple and less demanding on both time/money. Why not just go for softies? Jmo.

Do whats in your heart. If youre posting this and have considered, you already sort of convinced yourself you want to return and its safe to say , if you leave 3-4 times. Often at some point you return 3-4 times.
Set up a budget and see if what you have in mind meets or exceeds that monthly budget especially with the price of goods and livestock at a high scale.

Yea, that's the direction I'm leaning towards. I'm already working on drafting a stand design and sump layout so here we go... We'll see where this takes me. I'll drop a link to a build thread if/when I start one.

I remember spending a lot of time trimming corals in my mixed reef, of which softies grew the fastest, often faster than I could keep up and I had a very hard time selling or trading them and giving them away was annoying. I spent far less time mixing and topping off my doser. I'd rather avoid softies, focus on SPS, setup a doser with decent sized jugs and mix every so often. That's where my head is anyways... best laid plans go to waste. :downcast-face-with-sweat:

Reading through this thread it appears you have mentally and spirituality got yourself back in.
You are just asking if physically you are ready and it sounds like you are.
When I started my tank now 10 or so years ago I shopped around and got everything but my tank used, free, barter and trade. There's always someone getting out of the hobby, even in a small place like mine.
One guy gave me a bunch of stuff for free because he saw how passionate I was about it all.
As for time, well I've done the young kid thing too and, all I have to say is I love it so I make time.
Good luck.
Hope to see where you've gone with a build thread or whatever soon. :)
