I just noticed white, kinda fuzzy stuff on some of my live rock. Was googling and now I’m wondering if it’s algae, bacteria, or a fungus. It looks almost like spider web on the rock. Doesn’t seem to be fuzzy. Any ideas. I’d like to figure it out before it gets out of control. Btw. I’m fighting high phosphates at this time.
If you have sponges you have a healthy tank. This is what I’ve heard from quite a few experienced reefers. At least in most cases this is true, anyone disagree?
Sponges are typically harmless filter feeders. I'd leave them be. The only time I'd remove them in our tank is if they smothered a coral. There great biodiversity
Ok. Cool. I only have one coral so I’m not worried about that. I’m all about biodiversity. That’s one reason why I’m not getting the bristle worms out of my tAnk unless it becomes necessary. I have a couple that are close to 12”’long. Lol. Kinda creepy but they keep the sand bed clean.
