Gone years a couple time, one year many times. Always ends with a crash. Usually when the DSB has expired 5 years ish. Now I change lots of water and tank is awesome, and no crashes. success is not measured by water changes or lack of, success is how much coral you can grow.

So you do or don’t do water changes

So you do or don’t do water changes
In 30 years I have gone through periods of not doing them regularly and NOW doing them regularly.

Difference is stability of the tank while doing them, and no south turns.

One only gets away with it for so long before the bad comes a knocking.

same here i got dinos because i was doing too much water changes so i stopped. i have had 0 issues and my tank is 5 months old on the 13th

I know I'm late and hope everyone won't get mad for digging an old thread, but recently I started doing WCs every week (sometimes every other week) and my tank is never better. Before that I was neglecting it and only did WCs when I wanted to, sometimes even only once a month, and all the corals looked like ****, so I think doing consistent WCs is the key to success.
