It looks like my tank is going to be ok, things are starting to open up again. It looks like i may lose one head of my Duncans coral.

I tested, and my PH was 7.7
Ca was 460
Ammonia was 0
Nitrate was <.3
Mag was 1220 i think.

I wasnt really chasing it. Just saw that it was low, and was trying to get it up to where it's supposed to be. Think i just got some bad advice on the best way to do that.

I would bet it wasn't an increase in pH that closed everything it was the actual Chemical touching the coral in it's powered form I vote do nothing

That PH buffer will increase your alkalinity and that will cause your corals to suffer. Also, you can put the powder in your sump with out mixing it and it wont be a problem. The issue here is most likely a big jump in ALK.

It's fine to chase ph, just not with chemicals.

The only effective solution to low ph (assuming your parameters are reasonably in balance) is to reduce the amount of CO2 in the water. CO2 scrubber, refugium lit opposite the display, crack a window near tank, drip kalk... All reasonable approaches.
