Thanks for the info,after a little reading I think I might do a few leds for effect but not for primary lighting.

I don't blame you. It can be pretty overwhelming to deal with high-power LEDs as opposed to the $1/dozen, 5mm ones.

FWIW, I run a 70W MH fixture on my 14 gallon. Maybe you could do a retrofit and mount the ballast underneath the cabinet to save room. This looks like it could work. You'd just need a reflector, which you can cannibalize from a cheapo outdoor flood light from walmart. Just add an exhaust fan to the canopy to keep temps in check.

I might do a 70w hqi if I find one on the cheap but for now I have two 32w pc and it would more than likely do with one more I know people don't like pc for some reason but I don't think some corals need as much light as people think they do. You would be surprised at the growth rates I get in some of my under lit tanks. With lps I feed a lot and that makes more of a difference than any amount of light I’ve tried including MH
