Anyone using a IceCap Reef Illuminations T5/LED fixture? Considering going with the 36" when I upgrade but don't see a lot of information on it and can't find the 36" anywhere.

These are starting to go on sale everywhere. Anyone know why, are they not moving as fast as they anticipated? Maybe a newer model coming out.

i saw them in person and was very dissapointed in the reflectors, they look like nova extreme reflectors. tek lighting has better reflectors

Well that's disappointing!! I really have no idea what to buy to light my new upgrade (36 x 18 x 20) and was hoping someone would have something good to say about this one.

When I think of a LED/T5 The LEDs are providing most of the light the T5s are just tweaking the colour. Another reason for DIY.

IMHO any LED fixture that is not using the equivalent to CREE XRE or XPG is not worth it.

Its all about the PAR and Spectrum.

Well, maybe I'll spend the extra thousand and go with an Aqua Illumination setup...

The LEDs on the icecap are just for supplementation not the main par bulbs. If you want a good fixture look into an ati powermodule and if you want shimmer add some LEDs like ecoexotic stunners
