Ich on blue tang disappeared?

So what I thought was ich on my blue tang seems to of disappeared within a day? Can ich do this or was it just not ich and could of been stuff stuck onto the fish?
I was preparing a fresh water dip for this evening, came home and tang is fine.

Only symptoms I ever seen was white dots on the fish. Was eating and swimming around fine

I hope it was just sand on him, but ich tends to fall off and come back in larger numbers.

I did originally think it was sand, as my sleeper goby kicks it up all the time but then convinced myself it was ich.
No white spots on any of the other fish either so fingers crossed

Yes, keep them crossed. Twice I have tried to keep a blue tang and both times they got ich and killed my fish.

That being said, Hippo Tangs are a PITA to QT because they often show these white splotches that look like ich. Probably stress spots, or possibly abrasions from trying to wedge themselves into tight places. I've taken skin scrapes of these areas and found no pathogens. o_O Hippo Tangs and sand burrowing wrasses will also scratch for no apparent reason (unless the wrasse gets some sand stuck in his gills that he’s trying to dislodge.)
