Is this ich on a grouper? It’s about 5’ long.

Looks like a long term captive - at a public aquarium?

I can't see the telltale discrete white ich spots, just localized patches of white mucus. I'd say it doesn't have ich.

Amazing what they can fit in the tanks here. Bahamas.

It's been like 20 years since I've been there, but IIRC, they use ocean water on a semi-open system, and I don't know if they sterilize that or not, so it could have flukes.

My kids pointed out all the Aiptasia on the edges of the shallow tanks.

No, I’m currently at Atlantis in Bahamas. Doesn’t look too good though.
Ahh. I was about to ask how big your home tank was if you had that big grouper in there! Groupers are super cool

I too dont see sign of ich but rather the typical hole in the head and light erosion they often have when they get large.

Kids ate fried conch and still ate it after I told them we had small ones in our tank

I still would. I don't care. If it's dead it's dead.

Do you think I could keep a grouper in my 90?
They stay in one spot so why can't that spot be my tank.
Only one I think you can keep in that size tank is a marine betta, also called a comet grouper. I have one, he is a stunning fish
