Gotta treat my fish, setting up the QT now.

If I dose copper will the tank I use it in become unusable even after I wash it out?

Also whats the best copper product out there to use?

Thanks guys

Once done with the treatment, run carbon on it for a while, that will draw out the copper, you will be able to get it all out.

Yes, it will draw out the copper from the glass and the silicone. The tank will only hold a finite amount of copper, the carbon will remove it.

I would go somewhere else then or order it online. I wouldn't use anything beside copper based treatments

Ok I have my QT setup and ready to go but I am curious about something...

My yellow clown certainly has ich, but he is pretty fat and lively. He is also eating like a champ. It seems like since I have been setting up this QT that the ich on him is slowly falling off.

Could it be possible if I keep them well fed that he can fight it off it my DT? Or am I being crazy?

It is possible for them to fight it but you won't rid your DT of ich...I would still qt and treat all of your fish for at least 45 days. Your DT has to be fallow for that time period so that the ich will die off

Wow brutal. Do you think they will be fine for 45 days in a tank that was just set up 2 days ago?

I have not really added anything to it. All I added was a chemical that will cycle my tank in 24 hrs. Its pretty basic

10g w/ hob marineland
75w heater.

The 24hr cycle additive is what I was referring too. What kind did you get? I use one that took a week to cycle. Also I'm assuming you did but make sure you take the carbon out of your filter

Yeah filter has nothing running in it. I'll check what the stuff was when I get home. It did say cycles in 24 hrs on the back though.

Yeah mine was a 24hr too but I think I needed to add more than I did. This is the one I used.

Do you have live rock in your display tank? If you do, the rock will sponge in the copper and you won't be able to put corals in there if you wanted. Use copper for the QT.
