I'm pretty sure this is not an algae or plant but this is the only board that I saw that Id's we're welcome so I'll post here. If I need to delete or move this post just let me know and I'll be more then happy to do so.

Now this is in one of the tanks at my LFS and he's not sure what it is. And since he's to busy to at the moment to get it Id'd, I figured I'd give him a hand. It looks really neat and would love it in my tank if it's not a bad this to have.

The item in question is the green tentacled anemone looking thing with the pink tips growing on the old dead candy cane.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Those would be the very attractive variety of Majano, pest anemones.

Is there any way you've heard to keep it in check? It would be awesome if I could just keep a small colony of it, without it over running my tank.

To each his own. They do not spread as fast as Aiptasia do and they are less difficult to get rid of.
