Got given a few corals from a shutdown, seem to remember the previous owner mentioning this were Kenya trees but honestly I'm not too convinced as I don't see that cauliflower like polyp. Any ideas? I'm fairly sure these are soft corals. Want to make sure what they are so I can place them in a place that suits their needs.

May be. Is it normal for their polyps to be retracted this much, then (they look smooth to me)? The other Kenyas I have, when they retract, still see a distinctly cauliflower shape to the branches. They've been in the tank for a couple of days now.

It looks like it's not happy where it's at. I'd try moving it...after two days it should've opened up by now.

Questions about Nephthea/Kenya Tree corals

I recently saw a coral at my LFS in a display tank that I thought was cool. It was neon green and looked like a tree. I thought it was a Kenya Tree coral but wasn't sure. A few google searches made me think that the coral was called a Nephthea coral, but a website or two said Nephthea corals...

I've now moved it next to my Kenya, nephthea looks similar I don't see any polyps although a couple of them look to have a more rugged surface today. Might be the polyps.

Give it time to adjust it’ll take about a week to two weeks for it to really show itself looks good !
