Hello,

What are these white tube like things growing in my sump/ tank?

90 G Tank
Red Flex Sump (Refugium not currently active)
Oct-110 Skimmer

I have seen these in my tank for months now and I believe them to be beneficial...but after speaking with a friend I'm not exactly sure what these are.

Can anyone ID and tell me more? Please and Thank You!

Its sponge- may be clatharina and favors low light and low flow areas. Scrape off with edge of old credit card or similar and discard

Also; I did scrape off the original growth but it came back. NBD I can scrape it again if needed.
Make sure you get the base or it will return

Removal isn’t usually required with these filter-feeders since they are generally harmless, though you do occasionally come across reports of certain species smothering corals. Personally, I would keep them.

I did a lot of research once I was able to figure out what it was. I'm 100% keeping it.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
