Just a little fella that grew off my rock. Was hoping someone could ID?
It's about 1cm across.
I've had a few different opinions from Zoa to Fungia to Catalaphylia.
I'm thinking maybe a fungia, but I'm not great with IDing anything I havnt had much experience with.
I don't know if it uploaded properly as I've never uploaded here before.
Thanks in advance!

Looks like a Fungia (Plate) Coral to me. When young they are attached to rock. As they mature they will release & inflate themselves to be carried on the current. Thus settling down on the SB :) Very cool hitchhiker if indeed that is what it is.

Thanks!
That was my best guess.
He's a tough little guy. I've had it for a few years and he keeps getting eaten by a starfish I once had or stung by the mushrooms next to him. That's why he won't grow! He's developing some pinky purple colour so hopefully he'll be a nice big fat plate soon!

It's loving mysis and some home made food I whipped up. I've noticed a lot quicker growth since I started spot feeding.
The annoying this is I have a very greedy goby that likes to ignore the food I give him, but steal food from the corals!

I also love Fungia. Wanna see something really cool? Drop a few pellets of food on the outter rim and watch how it moves them to it's mouth. This gave me many hours of entertainment :) Sadly I had to sell mine as it got to big for what space I had on my SB :(
Try keeping it alive & well long enough for it to detach from the rock. Sounds like it's going to have some pretty colors.

Fungias are definitely one of my favourites :)
I use to have 2 neon green ones about 1" across and they were gorgeous. They gave me hours of entertainment watching them eat too.
This ones steadily growing so I'm hoping in a few months he'll drop off :)
Does anyone have any ideas about how big they should be before falling off? I've only ever owned bigger ones.
