Can anyone tell what is growing at the base of my AOG Palys? They are very very small right now, it almost looks like xenia(I hope not)

awesome, what is the best way to deal with it? I got lucky a few months ago and the xenia that had almost taken over my tank just melted and died. Have been trying to avoid such things.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Thanks, I was looking at the fluke tabs they kinda scare me, I'm not real big on any chemical treatments. Guess if I don't like them or they get out of control I will be boiling rocks

Honestly I wouldn't even add that frag to my tank. They aren't as easy to isolate like xenia they are brooders and will release free swimming larvae when the reproduce. My tank became infested with them and I had to fluke tab the whole tank. The fluke tab treatment can be used as a dip. Since you only have them on one frag you can make a dip with the fluke tabs and dip that coral only.

I've been through this myself. Here are some pics of my tank from a couple years ago.

Those cloves will kill corals not just irritate them.

not sure what variables contribute to their explosion in growth - I have actually been trying to grow some of these and my rock that had quite a few has slowly dwindled to basically nothing :(
