The first is a gorgonian as said they require good water flow but not a direct so it causes polyps not to come out. They do not have photosynthesis. Which means it does not require light so it will have to be feed a few times a week. If the flow is not good they will grow algae on the stems. The polyps can not come out and the coral will die.

dang that coral only have two days with me :/

Was it like that when you bought it? When you see then bleached dont buy. It more than likely will come back depending on what caused it to bleach it will meed some special care for awhile.

The color. Never a washed out almost white. The ricordea was probably a green r orange . Bleached looks like the name says. Like it was dipped in bleach. Corals will have a iridescent color. Rich looking not whitish. The gapping mouth is also not a good sign. It will need low light and manual feedings for awhile.

Before buying anything look it up online and see what it looks like. It will even tell you the lighting requirements, flow and placements in the tank and you will know if its within your expertise of having that species of coral. I do it with all my fish, I am there for hours watching them and doing research to be sure it will be compatible with what I already have and what I plan on having in the future. I am just now getting into the reef and I do the same thing and ask the people who work there. But DONT always trust what they say they can be wrong.

Depending on your setup the gongoria they are not bad. I have a purple candelabra for over 5 years now. The purples are easier to keep then the red or yellow ones. Those two colors get zero benefit from light the purples get some but still need feedings.
