Ideal fish for nano tanks?

Are sapphire damsel aggressive?

I think I will get a Tailspot Blenny, they seem to be pretty chill.

think all damsels are aggressive in small tanks never had 1 though so maybe someone else will chime in about that

no, but geometric pygmy hawkfish are…

they’re considered to be more of an anthias
still, they’re close enough to a hawk in behavior

i still think you should get one of these
if you can find one…
they’re not terribly expensive,
right around 40 to 50 bucks.

they add a ton of interesting behavior and personality to the system
which is a nice reward for your investment

The people at the place I bought it from said that they are not normally very aggressive, but I think it seemed crazy to me. Still, they're all little devils.

As previously mentioned by others, it’s not just the volume of the tank but also the dimensions when it comes to selecting fish.
Short of 5 gallons but enough room to swim and hide, the Canary Blenny would be interesting.
Never had one personally, and read that they have a venomous bite.

Bluestripe Pipefish are hands down my favorite in a nano tank. I had a 25 lagoon that was a mixed reef/community tank and I could watch those guys ride the current all day.

That's funny, all the online shops selling them have a minimum requirement of 30G which I thought was nano tank size. Maybe I'm misinformed of what a nano fish is, and confusing it with fish suitable for nano tanks. So I'm guessing nano fish and fish suitable for smaller tanks are two different things?

Following as I’d like one last fish to add to my Nano tank.

Never considered the Pygmy Angelfish before. Don’t they need much more space? And can’t they nibble away at coral?

They would be more comfortable in something bigger of course but they will be perfectly fine in a 25g. Also yes, they can nibble but its not common.

no. They are really peaceful unlike other damsels. Mine wouldn’t hurt a fly.

He swims around a lot, but is hard to notice in my 75g tank because he’s like under 2 inches.

So, when I setup my tank last summer (40 gal, 25 lbs. live rock & live sand) ... After a months' time, I wanted to test the system out with a cheapo fish. I found out the hard way why this would be my biggest mistake!!! This fish was VERY AGGRESIVE & TERRITORIAL to anything in the water! The 25 lbs of rock was his and it was fast enough to guard it all, from side to side and everything between. it would chase everything I put in the tank no matter what size it was. It had to go back to the LFS. But I couldn't catch it. This was the first fish I had to remove all 25 lbs of rock to catch. You should of seen the other fish because it tried to hide among them, they were like "NO, NO... get away from us, he's after you " It still took 15 mins to catch!!! It also seemed that as this fish was escaping me, the blue seemed "glow". Sorry, to say, I had to injure it to catch it ... you know what I did with it after that.
