Been getting alot of different answers from what I've searched online. I tested nitrate levels this morning and it was reading 10ppm. I currently have 2 clowns, goby, hammer frag and an acropora.

I am wondering what the ideal range of nitrate is and how I should lower my level if it's too high

How old is your tank?

Is there a reason you are concerned about the nitrates at the current level?

4 weeks old. The only reason I am concerned is because I am confused on what the ideal levels are. I read somewhere that I should have levels less than 0.2 for a reef tank

Not with a 4 week old tank. Your nitrates will not become stable until you complete the cycle.

This is completely normal for a 4 week old tank.

There are many things that influence nitrates as well, biofilter, bioload etc.

Have you tested your other nutrient levels?

Hurry up and wait...

Patience is the best thing here. Let your tank cycle try and resist adding anything until it is complete.

That's my .02

Should've mentioned I fast cycled though with bio-spira and live sand

I'd typically suggest targeting 1-10 ppm nitrate. 10 ppm is fine. :)

20 is high, unless you are doing softy tank. I agree with Randy. Strive to keep them 10 or under.
