What is your photo period? How long do you run peak intensity? I have a 6 bulb T5 Tek fixture over my 90g. Just turned down my lighting to 2 actinic for 8 hours and 4 blue whites for hours. I have led moonlights run for hours before and after the actinic too. I was running actinic at 12 hours and blue/white for 6 hours peak but my diatoms are a real pain. Do you think my photoperiod is too low?

I have an 8 bulb t5 fixture. At 8am four of the bulbs come on (3 blue plus and 1 purple plus). At noon the other four come on (1 actinic, 2 coral plus, and 1 purple plus). These four stay on until 6pm and then shut off. The first four shut off at 8pm.

Actually run my lights longer than most suggest. I do this based on research I've done based on sun cycle in the natural habit areas my corals come from. I run my lights for 11 hours per day. This is my white lights on phase. I have very low emission blues that run 24/7 and high emission blues that I run anytime the white lights are off and I wanna see the tank(typically in the evening before bed). My light setup consist of dual 175W metal halide (20k) dual 96W compact (15k) 1 led bar running 10k white/ 460 nm blue.
