I have a 8g ioaoi aio tank. I got a one of the maxspect 30w light to go with it. Just looking for ideas and inspiration! Bonus points for any hosting ideas (idk much about anenomes and other hosting organisms)

I’ve seen mixed reporting on this.

But since this is a nano, I think maxi minis with inverts only would be nice.

Before I got a tank I watched through Inappropriate Reefer's videos on YouTube, and he made a budget tank in which he included some maxi minis, and you could see that it ate one of his clownfish. You could see the clownfish inside it.

Is it possible that the fish died and drifted past the maxi-mini? Possibly. Unless you see something happen, you can't be sure.

Caribbean condi anemone hosting anemone shrimp. With a few upside down jellyfish on the bottom. I had a 10g setup like this a long time ago and it was awesome. The carribean anemone shrimp is one of the coolest shrimp I think
The anenome shrimp would be really cool! I tend to forget about them! Never had one before.

I did a quick Google search and found a post on R2R of a shop owner saying he stopped selling them because he saw one eat 3 or 4 fish. That said, as a anenome invert only tank it would be cool

I don’t doubt it ate it, I think it would be best to house it with faster swimming fish.

Stuff like damsels and not gobies in a nano, for example.

And they definitely don’t host clownfish

If my tank was a touch bigger I have a pair of bonded clowns that are real jerks in my main system that I'd love to remove, just not get rid of. I feel an 8g is a touch small though

Yea probably. Enough for a smaller clown, but I’d go at least 15g for a pair.

I do like the idea of a bigger nano (20-30g) that has like 20 high end BTAs (of one kind) with a pair of clowns. That sounds nice

I have a 20 long i was thinking about plumbing into my main system down in the fish room(basement sump) so that might be an option, although it wouldn't be much of a nano with like 180g of water volume :grinning-face-with-sweat:
