New to the hobby. And I'm looking for something to compliment my mixed coral tank. Anglerfish and eels. Are kinda out. I have a pair of mature harlquin shimp I don't want to get eaten. My tank I made my self it's 49 gallons and it's a 70 gallon system. I have a ton of rock so space is limited. Any ideas.

Welcome to R2R! That is a unique shaped tank. Do you have any fish now or just the shrimp?

I like the tank![emoji106] clown gobies come to mind. They are small and like to perch on the rock.

Flame Hawk would be cool too. A shrimp goby combo. I always like a tailspot blenny around too.

Welcome to R2R and the hobby!
I cannot offer any suggestions about specific fish but imagine you'll have to stay on the small side based on your tank size. BTW - it's an interesting looking size! Is it 18x18x36?

Yes it is excatly . And it has a deep sand bed which I know I'm breaking just about all the rules when it comes to new reef keeping. I'm willing to try to defy the odds and do something different . Thanks for the help
