Its a macroalae known as foraminifera and is very responsive to red lighting which promotes algae

My apology- Got off the phone screen and looked on my full computer screen and vermetids indeed and these are out of control. Your best bet for erradication will be a pair of bumble Bee snails which will consume them one by one. You can if possible break off many with a plier at the Very bottom base - do not snap in the middle as they will simply regenerate.

So there down in the sump,Is it possible the could get in the display tank? Or should I just let them be in the sump?
So far they are only on one rock which is no problem I'll just take it out.
